About us

We have named our firm McVinish McInally SME accountants because that is who the client works with – Scott McVinish and Glenn McInally – two very experienced and personable accountants who commenced an accountancy practice to service small medium enterprises (SME) and high net worth individuals. When we first began we decided to build our firm from the ground up as we wanted our firm to be a firm of the future not a firm of the past.

Our firm is very focused on the client relationship as we believe this is critical to providing our client with the level of service they require. Our view is that the more we speak to our client the more we understand their affairs with the result being that we are in a position to provide the right advice at those critical moments.

As we grow we will invest in things that are most valued by our clients such as A grade people not A grade premises. We believe that it is just as important for our people to be good communicators as well as good technicians.

We believe we provide the greatest value to those clients in the SME space who are looking for something more than just a one sided relationship with their advisor.

Our engagements are preferably on a fixed fee basis.  We believe that the current method used by most other accountants  of charging clients for time is a barrier to building relationships.  That is, no client should fear picking up the phone to bounce a few ideas off us and expect to be charged a small fortune. We provide exceptionally good value and most importantly there are no surprises with regards to our costs.

Established in 2014, McVinish McInally SME Accountants brings together Glenn’s vision for delivering high quality accounting, taxation and business services that is responsive to clients.  With an eye to the future Glenn’s primary focus is building relationships so that he is in a better position to understand and anticipate clients’ business needs. He has an ability to problem solve in innovative ways. Glenn is able to cut through, identify the problem and find a solution. He provides a frank and practical approach to clients as well as strong technical expertise. After 25 years of working in professional accounting firms and commerce in a number of industries, Glenn has always believed that there was a better way to deliver professional accounting services. Glenn’s experience spans many industries including mining, property development, legal, medical services, marketing and other professional service industries. Glenn advises clients on all aspects of taxation, accounting, strategy and business services. Glenn specializes in

  • Financial management for small to medium enterprises.
  • Taxation, GST and accounting compliance and advice for small to medium enterprises.
  • Part time CFO / financial controller support.

Glenn is Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and holds a Masters of Business Administration from Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) University of New South Wales.

Scott’s focus is on understanding and building relationships with clients. Developing a strong client   relationship allows issues to be fully explored, client circumstances completely understood and appreciated, resulting in the development of the best tailored solution to deliver business success. It is through this perspective that Scott brings a multifaceted approach to clients business needs. Scott is a chartered accountant and tax advisor and SMSF Specialist with over 16 years experience.  Prior to partnering with Glenn and forming McVinish + McInally SME Accountants, Scott was a Director with a Mid-Tier Firm in their Business Advisory Division.  Scott provides commercial advice for his clients which includes:
